► What Is The Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC)?

The SSLC acts as an important platform of discussion of academic issues relating to the MBBS and GEP courses at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The SSLC also liaises closely with the Dean of Education, Dean for Students and the Barts & The London Students’ Association.

The SSLC is composed of Medical School staff and student representatives who have been elected by their peers to liaise with the School on their behalf. Students from all years are actively encouraged to report academic issues to the SSLC (no matter how big or small) via the SSLC forums on CE6, email or personal contact. Examples of the type of issues that are brought forward to the SSLC include:

Modules, clinical firms (cancelled lectures, lack of clinical exposure)
Examinations (timings, grades, content)
Resources (CE6, Library, Webmail)

If you are having personal academic issues, then please contact the Pastoral Pool, BL Welfare or your personal tutor who will be able to help.

Who does the SSLC work with?

Many staff sit on the SSLC Committee and happily give up their time to help us resolve your issues. The SSLC Chairs and reps regularly liaise with the following School staff:
