Barts Friends of MSF and QMBL Syria Solidarity Soc present: "Stories from Syria: MSF in the conflict" Tuesday 28th March at 6pm in Milton LT. We have two highly esteemed speakers with extensive MSF experience all over the world, including Syria. They will reflect on personal experiences to talk about MSFs presence in Syria, focus on what the future holds for the Syrian people, and what we as students can do to help. This is not an event to be missed! Refreshments will be provided with certificates given to subs paying members. All are welcome.
Information on the two speakers:
Dr Angela Uyen Cateriano is a Peruvian doctor who has worked with MSF for 6 years, but has over 8 years of experience working in humanitarian projects in diverse projects including Peru, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, India, Bolivia and Venezuela. She holds a Masters in Health Management Organizations, Infectious diseases Control and is currently studying at QM as a for a Masters in International Relations. Angela worked in Syria with MSF as the Medical Team Leader from June 2014 to August 2014.
Dr Thaier Alhussain is a Syrian Doctor who started working with MSF in 2013 in Syria during the Syrian before moving to the MSF headquarters in Turket where he worked with MSF's coordination team. He worked with Syrian refugees inside and outside of Syria and was involved in projects covering pediatrics and mental health. Now based in the UK, Thaier provides a unique insight to the crisis, with a deeply personal touch.
