Attention all medical year groups! Dr Stephen Ellis, a Thoracic Radiologist Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust, is giving an essential teaching session on chest x-rays. On wards, you will be expected to interpret and present chest x-rays and recognise common conditions in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year spotters and exams. This will be a great session for those starting their cardio-respiratory firms (2nd and 3rd years) or for students wishing to revise essential radiology (4th and 5th years).
This session will start with the basics and how to approach an x-ray systematically- key skills needed when presenting in OSCEs and on wards. We will then cover common pathology that a 3rd year is expected to know. Dr. Ellis is the lead chest radiologist at Barts and has a great amount of teaching experience.
This event is free and open to all. Certificates of attendance will be awarded to society members. Make sure to click 'going' so we have a rough idea about numbers.
It is from 2 to 3.30pm in room 3.06, Garrod Building.
We look forward to seeing you there!
