As we all know, pads and tampons are not cheap, especially if you're not entitled to earn a living. Yet for most women, they are an absolute necessity. Many women living in poverty have to resort to using toilet paper, old scraps of fabric or nothing at all. This can lead to girls missing school, and young women being stigmatised for a normal bodily function.
Women and men of BL, we are calling up arms to collect sanitary towels for Londoners in need. BL Netball will be sending a collection of donated packets of sanitary towels to Bloody Good Period, a London-based charity which provides period care to asylum seekers, refugees and the homeless.
If you're going past a Boots or Superdrug, or just doing your weekly shop, add a packet of sanitary towels to your basket. It takes under a second and will make a massive difference.
Then bring these down to the BLSA Reception between the 3rd and the 8th April next week, where they will be sent off to those in need.
Netball love, please get involved!
