As you are aware, the government are planning to force new contracts on junior doctors as of August 2016. Our junior doctor representatives in the BMA will be meeting to discuss what action they will take in response to this. It is important that we support them in their decision and form a united front. The outcome of these events will affect us all in our future careers so we need to be involved now. To keep up to date with the latest news about what the BMA are doing, and what you can do, join our Barts BMA facebook page: ‘BMA Medical Students' Committee at Barts’
To help us in responding effectively to this issue we need to elect a deputy BMA student representative. This is a fantastic opportunity to represent our students at a national level and shape the work of the BMA whilst developing skills that are crucial for a career in medicine, such as leadership and presentation skills.
