A good friend of mine, Lara Casalotti, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia a few weeks ago, and will need a stem cell donor urgently to save her life. Lara is 24-years-old and a mix of Italian, Chinese and Thai heritage. But being mixed race means that finding a matching bone marrow donor is extremely difficult. Less than 3% of donors on the worldwide bone marrow donor registry are of mixed race… and only a small portion of them are Asian-European like Lara. So I'm here to ask you all to join the national bone marrow registry especially if you are ASIAN(including South Asian) or ASIAN-EUROPEAN.
It’s literally as easy as registering online (http://www.anthonynolan.org/8-ways-you-could-save-life/donate-your-stem-cells/apply-join-our-register) and then spitting into a test tube. If you turn out to be a match for Lara or one of the 12,000 other people around the world in need, you could save a life!

Thank you so much!
