Calling on all students, especially those in clinical years! We have set up an exciting new society called Barts and The London BTC. We are the Barts arm of a London-based initiative to improve quality of patient care and safety in the NHS.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with HCPs to identify and implement improvements to the delivery of patient services in clinical and community settings. As a society, our role is to guide and support you through your project, and provide funding if you need it. At the end of the year, we will compete against the other London medical and dentistry schools and present our projects at the BTC NHS University Championship. The prize? An all expenses paid trip to present our projects at an international conference!
There is a certified training event at 3pm this Wednesday 28 October 2015 at the Nevin Lecture Theatre, St Thomas' Hospital. Delivered by qualified NHS staff, it will equip you with the skills necessary to implement your projects. All are welcome and training is free but please sign up beforehand here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/national-quality-improvement-training-day-tickets-18929734345
Finally we understand that some Barts students are already involved in such quality improvement projects. Please get in touch with us, as we will be able to offer you further support and funding, and ensure that your efforts are recognised at the Championship!
