We are pleased to be holding our first Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) forum event on Wednesday 13th April 2016.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to interact with patients in a non-clinical setting and work with them to learn and develop how to make the most of patient-centred learning. The General Medical Council (GMC) wants medical schools to promote patient and public involvement in the education of medical students. We hope that this PPI forum will be the first of many and that medical students will be encouraged to participate in discussions with patients about medical education as well as assist in demonstrations of how students learn clinical, practical and communication skills.
The aims of the PPI forum are ‘Sharing, Listening and Learning’ to:
• Listen to how Patient, Carers and the Public’s ideas and experiences can inform and contribute to students’ learning experiences.
• Showcase how medical students learn and are assessed on their skills to become doctors.
• Explore potential for future liaison, development, collaboration, integration and partnership.
Location: Robin Brook Centre
Date: Wednesday 13th April 2016
