The Royal London Orthopaedic and Trauma Society (RLHOTS) is organising a practical orthopaedics workshop on October 1st at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, London. It's a one day course from 8am-6pm. Mr. Peter Bates, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Royal London is the course director.
This is the 4th year of the course and we've had great feedback previously. We've applied for accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons.
The content of the course will be useful to all, especially those interested in Orthopaedics and A&E. The course costs £80 but there's a 25% discount for Barts medical students.
There are 6 stations with registrar led teaching. The stations include common fractures and dislocations, ex-fix application, plaster casting, mock trauma calls, DHS with sawbones, joint aspirations. Each station has a short lecture followed by a practical workshop.
