My name’s Sophie and this year I’m your BL Campaigns Officer. You may have seen me at the mummies and daddies’ adoption stall last Saturday. My role on the BLSA board entails representing the interests of Barts and the London female students and Barts and the London students with disabilities.
To ensure I represent you to the best of my abilities, I am setting up a Self-defining Women’s Discussion Panel and a Disability, Mental Health, and Specific Learning Disorder Discussion Panel. To do this, I need you!
Your role will be to highlight issues faced by said liberation groups and together, we can identify solutions and campaign for change. Each panel will meet termly.
Please be aware, it is important you self define as being part of the demographic of the panel you wish to sit on e.g. you should define yourself as having a disability, a mental health problem or a specific learning disorder such as dyslexia or dyspraxia to sit on the Disability, Mental Health, and Specific Learning Disorder Discussion Panel.
So, if you’d like to get more involved in your union and highlight important issues, please email myself at firstname.lastname@example.org with your: name, course of study, year of study, the panel you would like to sit on (or both) and why you would like to sit on the said panel. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
