William Harvey Day is the prestigious annual research day at the School of Medicine and Dentistry. This year, it is on Wednesday the 18th of October, in the Morris Lecture Theatre, Robin Brook Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
It will showcase examples of high quality research going on in the school at various levels (e.g. PhD, early career researchers, professors), including three external speakers invited to give talks. The day is organised by VP Health office and Research Deanery in collaboration with the Institutes.
There is a competition for best poster and best oral talk, opportunities to network and a Church service to keep up the old tradition. The competitions are not open to current students but there are ways for everyone to be involved, with all encouraged to find out about the current research in the School, especially if considering enrolling in a PhD.
If interested, please enquire further for a detailed programme for the day and sign up to register below:

Students are also required for the traditional Church Service and to help with the Ceremony of the Rose, which involves two students walking down the aisle and laying a rose over the tomb of Rahere, founder of the St Bartholomew’s Hospital. Other students are required to walk around the people with baskets during the time of collection. The service is at 6pm in the Church in front of Barts Hospital.
