Hey everyone, we're your ENTs Officers this year which means we're the ones in charge of making sure you all have lots of fun this year!
Our first task of 2016 has been to organise your Freshers' Fortnight! Check out the BLSA Facebook page for all the latest info about the Fresher events or have a look below to see some of what's in store!
We can't wait to see all your beautiful faces around campus soon!
If you have any questions we're normally somewhere around the Griff Inn so come say hi!

Freshers, welcome to Bart’s! It’s time to get stuck in with our very first event of the year: Mummies and Daddies! Following tradition, you will be introduced to your loving families who will be there to guide you through the ups and downs of life at Barts! After spending some quality family time together, head down to the Griff for a night of celebration- after all, it is your first night here!
After your jam-packed first day at Barts, it’s time for a relaxing event of *ahem* light-hearted *ahem* competitiveness, where you and your friends can team up to take up in our first quiz night of the year! And if that’s not enough motivation for you to come, there are some great prizes involved for the winners! Why not some to the Griff before hand for a quick drink and some board games?!
An unmissable event featuring some of the coolest comedy acts from Comedy Central. Make sure you get there early to grab seats because this is likely to sell out! Line up: • Suzi Ruffle- BBC3’s Ed Comedy Fest Live and soon to appear on E4's 'Virtually Famous' • Ivo Graham- winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe • Jamali Maddix- The John Bishop Show BBC1 2015
Sports curries are a long and dearly held tradition here at Bart’s so after today’s Fresher’s fayre (during which you’ll no doubt be persuaded to join a club or maybe two!) make your way over to Brick Lane, known for their famous curry deals! After getting to know your new teammates, head over to the Griff Inn for a night of socialising! Tables are a rite of passage here at Barts so be sure to get stuck in, even if you’re a newcomer to that sport!
It’s probably time for a rest so why not BYOB (bring your own blankets) and your own pillows and settle down in the BLSA building’s recovery room to watch a movie. Popcorn will be provided so what’s not to love?! This week's film will be the fantastic Dark Knight! So get your blankets (and costumes?) ready 'cause it's gunna be an epic night! Costumes aren't expected but are encouraged!
Freshers, it’s time for your first Poundstretcher of the year! We love fancy dress at Barts and for this event, arrive in true style at the Griff wearing anything OTHER than clothes! Be it balloons or plastic bags, get creative and show us just how fashionable you can be! And if that’s not enough, our Poundstretcher drinks deals are simply too good to miss out on! P.S. shoes are, of course, allowed!
Before fresher’s is over and you get properly stuck in as a Barts student, it’s time for one of the biggest and most glamourous events of the year! Arrive in true black-tie attire and cruise along the River Thames, taking in the London skyline with a drink in hand. Sound fabulous? Well tickets for this ball sell out every year so make sure you grab your ticket before it’s too late! You don’t want to miss out!
So you think you've survived your first 2 weeks at Barts? You've been to Brick Lane, attended tables and fashioned your own toga... Well there's one last thing you need to do to establish yourself as an official BL Student! What better way to finish your Freshers Fortnight than with the first RAG event of the year: a Huge Barts RAG Raid to Brighton! RAG stands for Raise and Give and is simply a way of life here at BL. For centuries untold, students at Barts and The London have ventured out of the familiar confines of Whitechapel to fundraise the Barts way! While we might not be able to commandeer a tube or a fire engine as your predecessors did in years gone by, we can certainly take to the streets of Brighton armed with scrubs and a collection bucket and show the public what BLSA RAG can do!
