Teddy Bear Hospital is a student lead society with one primary aim: To educate the children of Tower Hamlets and eliminatetheir fear of doctors and dentists.
How is this done? We attend clinics at schools throughout Tower Hamlets, teaching 5-7 year old children about the importance of health. Ultimately, we help young children lose their fear of doctors/dentists and the hospital environment in a playful and non-threatening way. - We establish a good rapport and develop our communication skills between the children and the medical/dental students. - We provide medical insights to children namely with respect to understanding our bodies and safe, healthy living and provide an opportunity for medical/dental students to know more about paediatrics and also giving those interested in paediatrics a chance to work with children.
Most importantly we provide a fun-filled and enjoyable experience for both the children and volunteers!
