In addition to Medicine and Dentistry, Barts and The London also includes students who are part of our Global Health, Neuroscience, and Pharmacology and Innovative Therapeutics courses - collectively known as the Allied Courses.
BLSA welcomes two Allied Courses Representatives for the first time this year! We sit on the BLSA Board, the Student President’s Council, and QMSU Student Council. As your representatives, we make sure Allied Courses student concerns are being heard by your school, staff, and community. We’re also your Allied Courses Society Presidents! ACSOC is the place to find out about forums, academic and career workshops, and all social activities! Be sure to follow our Instagram and Facebook Page to hear about upcoming events!
Course reps represent their cohorts unique voice and form a liaison between the students and the staff. There is at least one rep within each course, who is voted for in elections held by QMSU. Freshers have the chance to nominate themselves for election to be course reps for their cohort. It is a great opportunity to represent as well as meet fellow peers and staff across your department as well as the whole University. It gives you a chance to gain invaluable skills as well as win awards!
Each student will get an academic advisor at the start of each academic year for guidance and academic support, who you will meet at different times throughout the term. They are familiar with the issues that students at university go through and are able to fully support you.
