Welcome All! We would like to invite you to join Barts and The London Boat Club. BLBC is the oldest sports club at the university and there are a number of reasons why you should join up.
BLBC is for both men and women and caters for all levels of interests, abilities and commitments. Our top boats regularly compete against the other London medical schools as well as hundreds of other crews from all over the world in British Rowing events.
The yearly training culminates in the United Hospitals Bumps race weekend at the end of the year, which is a manic weekend of exciting racing, followed by a huge party.
Want to experience the thrill of competition and be part of the team but not sure if rowing itself is for you? Why not become a cox! No experience is necessary as we'll teach you all you need to know. It's not just about shouting and steering; the cox can give the edge to win a race!
You will get very get much fitter, stronger and more attractive*. There is the also opportunity to row at a relaxed leisurely level throughout the year if that suits you.
As a club we are a very friendly and social bunch with regular events, parties, barbeques and curries as well as having two annual tours: our autumn trip to somewhere that isn't Henley and then the infamous Mystery International Tour later in the year.
We look forward to meeting you!
