AFP Interview Preparation Course

We would like to warmly invite you to the ABC of the AFP Course. This is a free two-day interview preparation course organised by AFP trainees from London, Oxford and Birmingham, comprising of clinical and academic lectures, case-based discussions and mock interviews. Our speakers for the course are Dr Alysha Bhatti, Dr Swathikan Chidambaram, Dr Fatima Dhaif and Dr En Lin Goh.

Please note that spaces are limited for the case-based discussions and mock interviews, which will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. Attendance at the lecture series and a deposit are required to be allocated a place for the case-based discussions and mock interviews (the deposit will be refunded on attendance at the case-based discussions and mock interviews).

Day 1 Saturday November 3rd
08:45-13:00 Lectures: how to tackle the clinical and academic interviews
Topics covered: How to critically appraise a research paper, statistics, the integrated academic training pathway, common clinical scenarios and how to approach them

14:00-17:15 Case-based discussions
Topics covered: Prioritising clinical scenarios, ethical considerations, team roles, appraising and presenting a research paper, the academic clinician in clinical practice

Day 2 Sunday November 4th
08:00-13:00 Mock interviews
Structure: 10 minutes academic interview, 10 minutes clinical interview, 10 minutes total individual feedback
