Raise and Give (RAG) is the branch of the student union that raises money for charities. It achieves this by running some staple Barts and The London events such as Take Me Out and through collaborations with student groups.

Every year, the student body gets to choose 3 charities to fundraise for. Last year, BLSA RAG managed to raise £3,860 for 3 charities: Maggie's, Refuge and Cardinal Hume.

You can get involved by joining our committee (see below), suggesting new fundraising initiatives or by simply attending our events. Students can also visit our Freshers Fair stall to help choose the charities RAG will be supporting throughout the academic year.

If you want to learn more, follow us on social media (@BLSARAG) and come see us at Freshers Fair.

JOIN OUR COMMITTEE:

As we near the start of the New Academic Year, we are in need of a new RAG committee!

The committee is in charge of planning all things RAG including events such as Take Me Out, I'm A BNOC Get Me Out Of Here and RAG show.

There are around 6-8 slots for any Barts and The London student. Once on the committee you will be able to:

- Help organise our events

- Help run our Freshers Fair stall

- Advertise events

- Create marketing materials

- Liaise with student groups and students to help engage them in RAG

- Suggest new RAG events to run in the name of fundraising

- Keep track of finances and suggest mew ways to improve fundraising

- Be creative in coming up with new fundraising techniques

Want to help us keep pushing boundaries with RAG again this year? Then express your interest to join committee by emailing rag@bartslondon.com. Feel free to also suggest what role you may want to have.

Our Charities

Every year, our student body gets to choose 3 charities for RAG to support and fundraise for throughout the academic year.

We are currently in the process of selecting these RAG charities for 2019/20. In order to have the chance of being selected, charities must have nominated themselves before 12pm on August 30th. From these nominations, 3 charities will soon be selected by the student body.

Questions about nominations should be directed to su-rag@qmul.ac.uk.
