Welcome to Academic Support

Medicine and Dentistry are difficult subjects to study, you have vast amounts of information to learn and the changing nature of the course in comparison to A-Levels can be a challenge. BLSA has a number of organisations devoted to support its students academically to ensure that we can produce the best doctors and dentists possible.

These societies are independently student run but their efforts are co-ordinated by a BLSA Officer to ensure a high level of collaboration and cooperation. This provides the maximum benefit for students - the aim is to provide comprehensive support and avoid repeated efforts.

BL Peer Assisted Learning Society

BL Peer Assisted Learning Society (PALS) is a peer teaching society offering one-to-one tutorship programmes to 1st and 2nd year students and small group teaching programmes for 3rd and 4th year students.

They provide individualised, flexible sessions to students that require additional support with their medical education. They aim to offer revision support and study skills to students according to their needs.
